Immigration

As an immigrant who came to the United States at the age of 6, immigration reform is an issue that is close to my heart. Undocumented immigrants who came to America as children through no fault of their own should be offered a path to legal status, and should not be cruelly separated from their parents. I also support common sense legislation that reforms immigration to more directly conform to the needs of our country and economy instead of adhering to arbitrary quotas.

Our borders also need to be secure. One of my top priorities will be to ensure that we strengthen our borders to prevent drugs and criminal gang members, including the notoriously violent MS-13, from entering our communities. I will work across the aisle to ensure that we reach a solution that shows compassion towards DREAMERs, protects our communities, and meets the needs of our evolving economy.
